# Jenkins Blue Ocean

This tutorial explains what is Jenkins Blue Ocean.

Blue Ocean was a project to bring Jenkins’s UI into the modern world with a higher focus on user experience and design than the regular Jenkins UI.

In November 2019, the company that funded Blue Ocean announced that from then on they would be focusing on improving regular Jenkins UI instead of Blue Ocean.

Alternative options for Pipeline visualization, such as the Pipeline: Stage View and Pipeline Graph View plugins, are available and offer some of the same functionality.

However, if you want to install and see how Blue Ocean looks, you need to install the following plugins: Blue Ocean, Common API for Blue Ocean, REST API for Blue Ocean.

When the plugins are installed, you can see the "Open Blue Ocean" link:

Click on the link, and you will see the new UI for Jenkins:

If you want to exit from this UI, you can click the "Go to classic" icon which is on the left side of the "Logout" button.
